Tell Me You'll Miss Me - Romance Student Film

Short Summary

Hello! Welcome to our page! We are Western Kentucky University B.F.A. (Bachelor of Fine Arts) film students raising money for our senior thesis film that we will be shooting this fall!

Our team consists of five seniors, and several other WKU students as we take a step towards achieving our life goals of making films. This is a short film that will be directed by James Carter, produced by Jacob Staley, shot by Julie Bowels, and designed by Evie Cecil. All of these amazing people will be finishing their senior year, working on this short film.

This film is about a college student, Whitney, as she gets notified that she will be going over-seas for a study abroad trip. To celebrate, she goes to a party and meets another college student, Kolton. They begin to talk, and a few months later begin to date. However, as the timeframe when Whitney is supposed to leave approaches, she must choose whether or not she wants to better her academic life (and possibly better the chances of getting a great job), or stay and be with Kolton, someone who she now loves.

Western Kentucky University is a university in Bowling Green, KY, and is home to many "Hilltoppers"! WKU is one of two universities in Kentucky that offers a degree in film, but is the only university in Kentucky to offer a B.F.A in film. Students in this program take courses that are a lot more hands on, and use industry standard equipment! A few examples of equipment are the Arri Skypanel, MoVi stabilizer, RED Dragon-X, RED Epic, and Blackmagic Cinema camera. With learning how to operate these, as well learning how to perform other duties in the filmmaking industry, graduates are able to jump into the industry and perform their duties on a high level!

What We Need & What You Get

We are in need of generous donations from you and other in order for us to make this film. We are in need of $4000 to make this film, and here is the breakdown of where that money will be used:

For renting Locations, we estimate that we will be spending $300.

For Actors, we estimate that we will need to pay them $500.

For Travel, we estimate that we will spend $200.

For Hotels, we estimate $600 over the course of five nights.

For Food (lunches and snacks), we estimate $600 over the course of four days.

For Wardrobe, we estimate $300.

For Props, we estimate $650.

For Makeup, we estimate $650.

For renting more equipment $200.

Any type of donations will go towards this film, and towards our dream of making a film for others to enjoy! To repay you, each donation will get a special thanks credit in the film. You will also be sent a personal message from one of our crew members thanking you for your generosity.

For donations over $150, we will send you a signed poster as a thank you for your help

The Impact

Any type of donations will be helping the crew from debt, as we do not get as much support as other universities. You will also be helping us and sponsoring us as we travel through our last year of school, doing what we love.

We have had several films in the past that when they have great support from you or others, have made it into film festivals around the world. One of our films have even won an Emmy for it's work.
