Rare Medical Illness

My daughter Cori has been in NYU Langone Medical Center in New York City since June 27th and within 48 hours of arrival and numerous diagnostic testing, they were able to diagnose the conditions as PR3 Vasculitis, MRSA, Gastritis, ulcers of the small intestine, and Raynaud Syndrome. Things got so serious; she was moved to ICU for one-week.

Her fingers and toes had turned black, she is unable to walk, go up and down stairs, feed herself, use the bathroom, and other activities of daily living we take for granted. She is doing a little better but requires extensive rehabilitation therapy for many months to come.

Her condition is so rare for her age that her team of physicians plan on presenting her case to several medical journals.

She has not been transferred to a rehab ward or facility as yet but we are being told that it will be a long road to any type of normalcy. Cori could be out of work for at least one-year or potentially never be able to participate full-time or part-time employment.

Upon release to home, she will require continuous assistance. Family and friends may be able to provide limited assistance but professional health care personnel will be needed to coordinate the (ADL) activities of daily living, ambulette services, medical supplies, medication and infusions.

Also, during her absence from gainful employment, normal expenses will need to be paid such as rent, insurance, food, personal hygiene, clothing, utilities to mention a few.

Your help and kindness during Cori’s hospitalization, rehabilitation, and transition back home would be greatly appreciated. WE NEED TO GIVE HER A CHANCE FOR A FUTURE NORMAL LIFE!
