In Memory of Linda Batastini Kaluna

Donation protected
Linda Kaluna is a wife, mother, grandmother (Grammy), sister, aunt, great aunt and FRIEND to all who knew her.  Linda was called to walk with Jesus,                     August 11, 2015, and there are no words to describe the loss we all feel.  Linda loved her family, gardening, camping, sea glass hunting and above all watching her “children” grow.   We were all her children!  There isn’t another person with a greener thumb and Linda knew that if she watered her children they would grow like her amazing garden.  We all know Linda loved Plumeria’s.   The Plumeria is known to be the symbol of beauty, charm and grace.   It is associated with spring, flawlessness, positivity, dedication and devotion.   It is also a sign of immortality and is considered to be a symbol of love.   Those various meanings are influenced by cultural differences and many more worldly beliefs.  It seems quite appropriate that this would be a flower our dear Linda would love. Linda Kaluna embodied everything the Plumeria stands for or is associated with.

It saddens me that we are all reading this today because Bree (the best friend to many) and Lani (the only big brother most of us have), lost their Momma.  Papa Phil lost his wife and best friend, everyone who reads this lost an amazing woman we all considered to be a friend, Mom and mentor.   Linda loved us kids no matter what we did, she never judged any of us and always stood by us.   The Kaluna family is one that we all wanted to part of and they accepted each one of us!  No matter what life sent our way, Linda and her family were always there to lend a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on or offer words of wisdom!  Phil, Linda, Bree and Lani are givers, not receivers.  For some, receiving doesn’t come natural because they give so much. That’s when friends and family step in, we surround those we love and we make things happen.

There are so many associated monetary fees when a loved one passes away.  Understanding the grief the Kaluna’s are facing seems unimaginable.  If there is any solace in this situation, it’s knowing that we can all make a difference.  This family has given so much that it’s now our turn to give back!  We as a community, family or group of friends can come together and lighten their load.   Please consider making a contribution to the Kaluna family, in Linda’s memory.  There is no donation too small and I thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart, on behalf of the family!
