Missions Trip

Most of you know I grew up overseas as a missionary kid. I often felt that I never really belonged anywhere. I wasn’t a true part of the country we were ministering in and I didn’t feel like an American kid growing up in a “normal” life. However, every 4 years our mission agency, Mission to The World (MTW) held area retreats where all the missionary families gathered, fellowshipped and refreshed for a week. This one week every few years was where I truly felt like I belonged and was accepted – with other missionary kids who understood what it was like to live between 2 worlds. We all got to hang out, have fun and just be ourselves. It was always an amazing time.
Over the years there have been many retreats for missionary families and this year is another one. I immediately jumped on the bandwagon and signed up to volunteer as a childcare worker. I was accepted! I would love to be able to serve missionary families and take care of their children while they themselves are fellowshipping. When I attended as a child I would watch the volunteers and imagine what it would be like to do that myself one day. I feel like kids of missionary families are so often ignored and not made to feel important and this would be an awesome opportunity to let them know just how special and cared for they are.
In order to make this happen I need to raise financial support - I will need to cover airfare, room and board costs. Room and board is $1500 and airfare is approximately $1000. It’s a lot but I know the Lord will provide if this is His will. I am asking that you prayerfully consider donating to this opportunity and help me give back to missionary kids.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and I am so excited it’s been given. I am also thankful for those that come alongside to support me, you are truly appreciated!
