AMAZON REGISTRY:
Local logistical effort for distribution of long-term aid to Western North Carolina.
We are a group of neighbors from surrounding communities and states with a logistical network and direct communication to community leaders on the ground.
We are in regular communication with assets on the ground in the direct impact zone. As they convey their current needs, we are updating in real time.
Currently, donations are going towards hay for non-human relief workers. (Horses, mules, donkeys)
Victims trapped in remote pockets of mountain communities are inaccessible by standard means for the foreseeable future.
The search and recovery efforts require intimidate knowledge of the terrain and the precise locations to search for potential survivors. Workers are dealing with some of the toughest terrain on earth. Empowering local leadership from within the community to expedite and execute the efforts at this time is the most efficient way to help.
