Chris's Medical Fund

As brothers of Phi Gamma Delta, we believe that with great opportunity comes great responsibility. Through this sentiment, we have had the luxury of forming great relationships with a variety of people, students and otherwise. One of these individuals, Kinda Walker, recently became part of our family.

Chris Walker, Kinda’s husband, is a medically retired combat veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. He currently runs a fishing guide service, in which he gives trips to veterans, in order to support both his family and fellow veterans. But unfortunately, bad things tend to happen to good, and even the best of people. Recently, Chris suffered a tragic, unforeseeable accident when he was repairing the roof of his and his family’s home, falling off the roof and significantly injuring his leg. He spent three weeks in the hospital, after which time doctors concluded it was necessary to amputate his leg from the knee down.

The majority of donated funds will go towards past and future hospital bills. In addition, these funds will help with modifications to Chris and Kinda’s home to prevent the possibility of Chris re-injuring himself.
