Bucks for Brittany & Bo the Beagle
Donation protected
I'm Emily Tuttle, and I've known Brittany Cannella for years. She was my neighbor growing up, she takes care of our dog Chipper when we travel, and she's like a member of our family. We're starting this GoFundMe campaign to encourage all the people who love Brittany to help her through some difficult life events she's been going through.
Many of you know Brittany has had a rough week. Monday night her two pit bulls attacked her beagle, Bo, out of nowhere. Brittany jumped in to break up the fight and was bitten badly on her leg, requiring a hospital visit and stitches. She's in a lot of pain and is resting at home.
Bo was very badly injured and was rushed to an emergency vet where he spent Monday and Tuesday nights. He has puncture wounds all over his body that require stitches and wound drains, much of his skin has been torn away, he has muscle damage near the puncture sites, and he will need follow up medical care in the next few weeks.
In addition to her own injury, caring for Bo, trying to start getting back to work, and taking care of her baby, Nora, Brittany is also facing the awful decision of what to do about her two pit bulls. Since it's clear that they're not safe to have around a baby, it's likely they'll have to be put down later this week. Anyone who knows Brittany and her family know how much they love their dogs and how heartbreaking this decision is.
So many of you have commented on her Facebook posts sending love and support and asking how you can help. The best way to help Brittany right now is to contribute to this fund to offset the cost of the medical bills for Bo and her. We've set the goal at $2,500 which we hope will cover the bills for Bo's two nights at the emergency vet, along with Brittany's ER bill and any follow up vet visits Bo will need.
Brittany's expenses will likely be much higher, but this will at least get her started.
This part is important:
An anonymous donor has agreed to match any gifts for the next 48 hours up to $1,000. So anything you contribute between now and noon on Friday will be doubled.
Brittany means a lot to all of us, and she's always there to help any of her friends who need anything, so let's take this opportunity to support her in a practical way during a really hard time in her life. Thank you so much!
