Wolfson's Be the Change Project
Donation protected
In June of 2016, at age 12, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. I had to spend 4 days in Wolfson's Childrens Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. My care was amazing, the staff phenomenal and everyone was wonderful in making me feel as comfortable as possible. However, as a pre-teen, I found I was too old for the "activity" cart and got restless. I asked if there was a gaming system to help occupy my time and get my mind off of what was going on. The only system was down in the kids play area. I thought it would be great if they had gaming systems that could be wheeled to a room for the older kids.
I have been assigned a class project called "Be the Change" and thought this would be a great opportunity to make that change!! I am asking for donations so we can purchase gaming carts for Wolfson's Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida so other pre-teen/teens who have to stay in the hospital for long periods of time, have an outlet to get their mind off of why they are there, if only for a little bit.
If you have ever had to stay in the hospital, you know it can be scary, lonely, and tedious. If I can help even one kid escape those feelings for just a little bit, I can BE the change. Lets BE the change!!
