Women can be bleeders too
Donation protected
I am Nabila Husseni, a resident of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. I am a Para haemophilic, suffering from factor V deficiency. Over the past few years, I have decided to get more involved in the haemophilia community and help find other women who are suffering from haemophilia or other bleeding disorders. Woman like me who are also a sufferers can also understand the feelings of other women.
My father encouraged me to study, work hard, and find a job. I am an Indian woman who believes in demonstrating to others the importance of equal rights. In our society, it has been a struggle for women to be seen as leaders and not be harshly judged. My parents made certain I became strong so that I could fight against the challenges of life, without becoming weak. I was the girl who was not allowed to go anywhere alone; parents took utmost care of me as if I were a glass vessel.
But as life is not always smooth, I also underwent some consequences which changed my life. Through activities and new affiliations, I found a framework to feel my identity and dignity around the world. I became acquainted with my inner skills and got a clear vision to spread the message that “Women can be Bleeders too.” As an introverted person, it would not have dawned on me that I would be travelling independently to workshops not only in our bleeding disorder community all over India, but also to Philippines and hopefully to many other countries as well.
This is for the first time I will be travelling to USA as a volunteer for the World Haemophilia Federation (WFH) World Congress in July 2016, held in Orando, Florida. As a person from the middle class family I don’t want to be a burden on my Father as we are 3 sisters and I am the eldest one. So in order to lessen the financial burden I want to raise funds. The money you donate will be used for aiding my financial need to get to USA and in getting leadership & empowerment training organised by the WFH at the congress.
I am hoping to reach the campaign goal of $2000 before the end of May 2016 or by mid June.
(Managing & organizing Women's Annual Meeting in 2014)
(Giving presentations in the workshops on Women Empowerment & leadership skills)
(Organizing different awareness activities by celebrating Independence Day & other festivals)
(Organizing different programs like BHEL- AHF distribution to PWH)
THANK YOU =)
