Wombat habitat at Two Songs Sanctuary

We have completed Miss Molly, Wardoo, Pumpkin and Jax's large enclosure with the money raised so far. They have been living happily ever after in their cozy space with plenty of room for muscle development and mental stimulation for over a year now.

Now its time to start again YAY .... We have had 3 new wombats come into care from another human... Walter, Taj and Serena.

All of these new comers had been kept in a solid box with no sunlight, no dirt to dig, no space for muscle development and minimal human contact. Serena and Walter were in a really bad way. Serena had a broken front leg which had gone unnoticed and healed and when she first came to TwoSongs we actually thought she was blind as she couldn't see her food and ran into objects. We realised later this was her needing to adjust to daylight after being kept in a box inside for so long and after several days her eyesight adjusted. Serena and Taj were malnourished and extremely underweight with major hair loss. Walter had an anxiety problem and needed to be with a human continuously. He also had skin issues to start with when his body came in contact with grass. After 6 months of continuous personal care, a full time volunteer, thunder shirt and regular walks in a harness, all of Walters issues have disappeared.

We now need to build enclosures for these wombats.

TwoSongs needs your help and support to buy materials to build shelters, large enclosures with all the things a wombat needs to be happy, healthy and as close to their natural habitat as possible.

TwoSongsSanctuary is a Not For Profit sanctuary and we simply cant do this alone. Thankfully we have some absolutely amazing supporters and sponsors who we will open our doors to anytime. We share photos of progress to followers on Instagram for transparency and also to show people how sharing their heart has helped these iconic orphaned rescued native wildlife. 

In South Australia Wildlife carers are not permitted to release as we have no safe release spaces as we are surrounded by farming industry that destroy our wildlife. Our wombats will be with us for up to 30 to 35 years and our kangaroos up to 18 to 20 years... if we are lucky :)
