Women in STEM, Med, and Law Scholarship 2023

Happy Women's History Month!
I am incredibly excited to begin fundraising again for the Women in STEM, Medicine, and Law Scholarship at Boise State during Women's History Month. I have a goal of $27,000, because according to the United States Census Bureau, "Women are nearly half the US workforce, but only 27% of STEM workers."
In 2021 I started a GoFundMe to create a scholarship at Boise State University (BSU) for women pursuing STEM, Medicine, and Law after a Boise State professor stated that independent women are “medicated, meddlesome and quarrelsome” and that “Every effort must be made not to recruit women into engineering, but rather to recruit and demand more of men who become engineers. Ditto for med school, and the law, and every trade.”
In less than six months, we raised over $200,000 and the newly endowed Women in STEM, Medicine, and Law Scholarship was awarded to a woman studying engineering at BSU (see image below).
Women deserve to feel safe and empowered in all places, and to have the same opportunities as men. Let's help increase the percentage of women in all fields, especially STEM, and continue to support the message that women belong in all places.
Please donate to this fund to help close the gap and support women at Boise State University who are pursuing studies in STEM, medicine, and law!
I am also selling women-empowering merchandise at my Meddlesome Merch shop where all the proceeds will be going directly to the scholarship. Please check out the shop and buy/donate what you can!
During my fundraising last year, I had many women personally reach out to me to share their own stories of gender inequality and discrimination. To bring these women’s experiences to the forefront and build a sense of shared community, I will begin the process of writing a book featuring these stories.
I am actively seeking women willing to share their own stories. Please press the"Contact" button at the bottom of this GoFundMe page if you're interested in sharing your story.
