Women Welfare - Reminding Women's Self-Worth
Donation protected
Women Welfare is a non-profit organization that is active in many communities throughout India. We aim to provide women with necessary resources that foster social change and alleviate poverty. Providing educational supplies can help rural women affected by financial hardships, discrimination, and abuse. We can help rural women who are facing financial difficulties, discrimination, and abuse by donating educational supplies that provide financial stability. Women having proper education and resources can help families, society, and themselves combat social injustice.
After its establishment in 2021, Women Welfare has arranged numerous food drives for girls in orphanages through partnership. Furthermore, we have hosted online computer science classes for school girls to promote them to pursue a career in technology, another field in which women are underrepresented.
More About Us
The organization was founded by Alekhya Buragadda, a high school student. While working with Empolitics, she began her research on gender inequality. She found saddening statistics about the number of women facing domestic violence and stats about literacy rate partiality between the two genders.
Under the patriarchal rule, Alekhya witnessed hundreds of rural women bondage to their houses. Some even are forced to remain in abusive households because of the lack of financial support to leave. She advocates for these women and strives to educate them that will provide them with both financial resources and the strength to leave their homes.
