Who am I? I am an Iranian (Persian)-American woman, actress, director, producer, writer, dog mom, hobbyist chef and overall creative human being.
Founder of an independent production company, Melodically Productions.
Our team consists of a female Director, Producer, Writers and Director of Photography. It doesn’t stop there! Our crew consisting of 1st Assistant and 2nd Assistant Director, Gaffer, Lighting Supervisor AND Production assistants are all, yes, you guessed it, women!
What is our story about?
WO(MEN) GO TO JUPITER, follows an ensemble of strong-willed women who discover jarring government secrets behind the artificial insemination that is used to maintain Earth’s population of women. After the supposed extinction of man, the two sexes somehow discover each other on different planets, unbeknownst to their governments. Women are the only humans left on Earth, and men are considered an old wives’ tale.
Target Audience
All genders, ages 15-50, mature, enjoy watching something thrilling, comedic, futuristic, someone who enjoys the anticipation of what will happen next from a sci-fi perspective, mystery, can relate and sympathize with a child-parent and sibling duo, friendships, enjoys technology and character inner monologue story forward perspectives.
Impact
This project has the beautiful ability to impact individuals who have been in situations where they are not in control of their bodies and shut out the past trauma to cope with the present. The film is written, directed, and produced and consists of a 90% underrepresented female crew and the cast consists of 6 female leads, which makes a powerful statement to women in film today and towards the future of women’s careers in film and television.
This story follows the supposed extinction of man, and the two sexes somehow discover each other on different planets, unbeknownst to their governments. Women remain on Earth, and men, are held on Jupiter.
“A pulse-pounding dystopian Sci-Fi “Dramedy,” that is set 3 million years into the future.”
Shedding some light on a narrative that speaks volumes for the needs in this industry. This story shares a perspective of how genders truly support and bring value to one another's roles in society. This idea came from my mom, who inspired me to share the importance of female leading roles and females from diverse cultural backgrounds and specifically of different age groups.
Her idea inspired me to partner with my community of talented creative colleagues and create something we KNOW will bring value to current and emerging industry platforms.
Our LOVELY cast & some of our crew (pictured) at our first table read.
Director, Chloe Zhao once said, “I’m not the kind of filmmaker who just makes films. I have to be in love with my subject matter and want to learn more about it. Someone once said to me that passion doesn’t sustain, but curiosity does. I have to be excited by little things I discover along the way.”
Our passionate cast & crew are working for free or little to nothing and we still have to afford equipment (shooting on a top-notch 4K camera used for films), food (we will support local restaurants in a starving economy), props (need medical props for this film), wardrobe (even thrift clothing costs something), modern like technology for this Sci-Fi “dramedy” to look as futuristic as possible and equipment travel cars!
Donating and sharing:
The budget is based on a desire to raise $20,000, as we have currently raised $7,000 and need $13,000 more. With the special effects, CGI and VFX need to enhance the revolutionized way technology advancements consist in the future, production needs $13,000 to complete the project.
We will provide screen credits to all of those who contribute!
Those who contribute over $2,000, will be provided co-producer and/or executive producer credits.
If you love our concept and want to contribute to our success but can't donate, that is okay!
Please share and spread the word!
Thank you for reading, and have a beautiful day!
Best,
the team at Melodically Productions
