Women's Prison - Books and Supplies for College

Hi Bookclub Friends, I'm raising money to support women pursuing a college degree who are currently incarcerated in the Pocatello Women's Prison in Idaho. The University of Idaho will begin offering degree programs for these students in Fall 2022. However, because the average inmate earns $30/month, the students cannot afford their books (about $200/semester) or order their official high school or college transcripts (about $12.50). Research shows that inmates who finish even some college courses have lower recidivism rates and better outcomes once they are released. I aim to raise $1,000 to help these women students find something meaningful through education that will, I hope, help them, their communities and their families. Thank you! Sunny
