Wonderful Bec, discovered she has cancer

Hi my name is Donna, myself along with our wonderful early learning community would like to help raise funds for our amazing Bec.

Bec went into hospital for a routine procedure of having a polyp removed.

During the procedure the growth was further into the tissue than the doctors originally thought, and this led to more tissue being removed.

Due to this our wonderful Bec woke up from surgery fitted with a temporary colostomy bag.

Whilst in recovery a sample of the polyp was sent in for testing and nearly a week of waiting it was confirmed that the polyp was cancerous and another surgery had to be performed to remove even more tissue from the original surgery site.

Currently Bec in hospital recovering from both surgeries and once healed from the surgeries she will start undertaking chemotherapy to aid with the recovery.

Bec is a single mother of two young boys, one with us in the Early Learning Centre and the other in primary school.

Due to being a primary caregiver single mum, no one was able to care for her children at home whilst she was in hospital, so they have been at their fathers over two hours away and the only time she hears from them is over video call and phone calls. Until she has enough energy to care for them and herself its the arrangement that is in place.

Bec is a wonderful presence at our Centre and has a naturally caring and nurturing nature that children and educators are drawn to. Her knowledge and expertise in the field of early learning is remarkable and not having her warm, bubbly personality here has been felt.

Due to the circumstances Bec will not be returning to work for the rest of this year and the future of next year is still unclear.

Bec is a very humble person and has been very appreciative of all the support and visits that she has received so far, as a community we feel their is more that we can do to support her and that is why with Bec's blessing we have created a go fund me.

The funds raised will go towards any medical bills, daily living expenses, rent, bills, being able to provide for her two young boys and with anything else that will aid in her being healthy and energetic again
