**Update 4/6** Since reaching our goal of $40,000, our total donations has ballooned to over $51,000. Incredible!!! 100% of these extra donations will go to relief efforts in the valley. We will work closely with the Blaine County Charitable Fund and our current list of recipients to best allocate any future donations to ensure we are helping those who need it most. So far, we will allocate $1000 to the Food and Beverage Family meal organized by Chef Sean Temple, which will provide produce from local farms to our beloved service industry workforce. Thank you for putting this together Sean!
**Update 3/31** We have had the final people reach out to bring our total recipients to 310 people! Our 297 donors brought the total donations to $41,740. After GoFundMe’s fees, we will be distributing $40,438.78 which comes out to $130.45 per recipient.
Original Story:
Our valley heavily relies on the service industry, which has been the first casualty of the COVID 19. Unfortunately, unemployment income for the service industry is drastically lower because it doesn't account for tips.
Please help us raise money for the service industry that make our valley such a great place to live! 100% OF DONATIONS WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE THAT WORK IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY WITHIN THE WOOD RIVER VALLEY.
If you have been affected by COVID-19, please contact your manager to include you on their list of recipients. Managers, please email [email redacted] NO LATER THAN 11:59PM ON Sunday 3/29. All we kindly ask is please only include those in need, with no other source of significant/livable wages. That way we can dedicate more funds to each person that need it to live.
We will equally distribute 100% of the donations to those who reach out via their manager. The target date is 3/30. I am relying on managers to send a list of their employees that are affected.
**Please do not send pay stubs or anything else with sensitive information** Please reach out to your manager to contact me.
