We have had so many generous people reach out wanting to help Jon & Deanna with Mark and Logan. We've set this up as an easy way to give money that will help them on their sudden and unexpected journey. Here's the brief story-

Logan was born on June 10, 2023, and all was well. He went home on the 11th with Jon & Deanna and two-and-a-half-year-old brother Mark. But overnight, it was clear something was off and they took Logan back to the hospital on Monday and he was admitted to the NICU with bacterial meningitis. It did not take long before they knew they would have a long 6-week stay ahead of them.

Jon and Deanna had been travelling back and forth between their home in Osler, SK to keep Mark, happy and at home in a routine since he was unable to be in the NICU with his brother.

On Thursday, June 15, Mark started developing a fever and was generally feeling unwell (but still wanted to play ‘Peek’ with Nana and play his drums). Mark went into the hospital in Rosthern on Saturday as the fever persisted, which meant Jon and Deanna split up who stayed at the hospital with Logan and who stayed home with Mark.

Since little Logan was in the NICU, the testing on Mark was very extensive to try and narrow down the cause of the fever so Deanna could be cleared for the hospital again. Mark was transferred to the pediatric unit in Saskatoon and admitted for more tests. We got the news that Mark has leukemia. We’re all as devastated as you can imagine. It has been a difficult week capped off with news no one ever expected.

Anyone who has met Mark knows that he is incredibly sweet, funny, and a talented drummer! Logan is the cutest little guy with his dark hair and dark blue eyes. Deanna and Jon have hearts of gold and have extended their hospitality and love to many over the years. It will be a long road for this little family, and financial stress is the last thing we want them to worry about.
