Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre

Donation protected
Our lives changed dramatically on the morning of 30th November 2020. Our lovely dad suffered 2 severe strokes, resulting in him needing life-saving brain surgery. He spent 8 weeks in York hospital, 3 of which were in the intensive care unit. Dad now needs intense rehabilitation to aid his recovery and is in the care of the amazing Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York. This will be his home for the next few months, or until he is well enough to come home to us.

Woodland's specialise in maximising independence and recovery as well as achieving rehabilitation goals that promote re-enablement and enhance quality of life. We are delighted to have already seen progress in dad’s recovery as this keeps us remaining hopeful everyday. The staff are incredibly caring, informative and supportive of both dad and our family to help on his journey to recovery.

To say a huge thanks to Woodlands during dads journey, we are raising money to fund therapy equipment to support communication and rehabilitation needs.

Dad always loved to go for long walks with mum. For this reason, myself and mum are setting ourself the challenge of covering the miles it would take to walk from York to Perth, Scotland (where dad is from). We start our journey on Saturday 13th February 2021 and aim to complete all the miles by 7th March (mum’s birthday).

If you would like to help, your donation, no matter how big or small would be hugely appreciated. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.

All our love,
Debs, Fraser, Alex and Ryan. #comeonDad #wearetheMillars
