Woodlawn Community Pantry

So I’m setting up the pantry today, I’ve done a shop for some items-
Pasta & sauce
Baby food/ cereal
Breakfast cereal
Potato’s
Bananas
Bread
Noodles
Ketchup
Cooking oil etc
I’ll be going to Lowe’s or Home Depot in a bit to get a metro rack to put it all up onto.
If anyone would like to donate- we will take donations of anything that is sealed, in date and doesn’t need refrigerated. (I’ll sort out a big fridge and freezer if there’s a demand for it.)
What we need
Baby food, formula, diapers, wipes
Any canned, Jarred food
Pasta
Rice
Cereals
Juices
Pet food
Personal hygiene products
Cleaning products.
Also any gift cards that you won’t use, or if someone wants to buy a gift card from a local business like pharmacy’s, butchers, supermarkets, even car maintenance places, amazon, the children’s place etc. Wherever you think will be helpful.
We’ve all at sometime fell on hard times, I lived in a pack of 99c hotdogs and white bread for a week years ago when I was between jobs and illegal.
And the first day we opened the kitchen.....change in the register was spare change we found around the house
So I feel fortunate now that we are still able to earn money, it’s time for us to help out those around us.
(I still get the odd craving for hot dogs on white bread!)
If you need help to top up your food supply stop by this evening, fill a box or a bag!
No one will blink an eye! I’ll leave a donation/ honor box beside the shelf, if you want, drop in a dollar! If ya don’t that’s fine! All donations will just go back I to buying more food!
Also, if you don’t feel comfortable coming to the kitchen, then shot me a message- or call the store, ask what we have, then tell us your location if its in our delivery area, we’ll drop it on the doorstep for you. We don’t need to even know your name or see your face.
