Worcester Physiotherapy Yorkshire Three Peaks
Donation protected
We are 24 physiotherapy students and 1 lecturer from the University of Worcester physiotherapy society raising money for 'Mind' - a charity very close to our hearts... by taking on an extremely tough challenge. We will be climbing the Yorkshire three peaks in one day! Our challenge is to climb 3 mountains:
· Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres)
· Whernside (736 metres)
· Ingleborough (723 metres)
…. All in just 12 hours!
We will be tackling a total of 24-miles and an ascent 1585 metres.
Our chosen charity we are completing this climb for is "Mind". Mind are a charity focused on mental health - they provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
Every year, one in four people will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling. Mind believe that no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone. They campaign for more support and listening, by raising awareness and taking practical steps such as setting up helplines and community support.
We feel as a society that mental health is something that needs to be spoken about and people should feel empowered to speak out and access the support they need. To contribute towards the life changing work Mind do by raising our target of £3,000 would be AMAZING.
Whatever the total amount we raise on this page is, 10% of it will go towards a small portion of cost for equipment, safety assistance and transport on the climb. The other 90% we raise will go directly to Mind. This climb will be both physically and mentally challenging which we feel can honour the battles faced by anyone who has been affected by mental health (in some small way).
Whatever you can donate we would be so, so grateful - no amount is too small!!! PLEASE help us reach our target :)
Many thanks in advance,
University of Worcester Physiotherapy Society
