Help Us Bring Creativity to Young Minds! BFS, Digilearning & Lollipop bring you #CannesForAll

Once upon a time, on a picturesque beach at the Cannes Lions Festival, an extraordinary idea was born. Over the past decade, Digilearning's (the fastest-growing UK charity for young people) founders have been fortunate enough to attend Cannes for the Film Festival and Lions, and each year, we dreamt of sharing this magical experience with young people who could benefit from its awe-inspiring creativity.

It all started on that beach, as we gazed up at the twinkling stars above. "I want to bring our young people to Cannes and create an exclusive career accelerator experience," I said to Sara, from Merlin Mentor a company that is always up for an adventure. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she replied, "Let's get Brixton Finishing School (BFS) involved!"

Upon our return, we reached out to Ally at BFS who had never attended Cannes, but her enthusiasm for the idea was infectious, and she also had been thinking the same thing we were all inspired by Cephas Williams's campaign "Black Out Cannes". She shared our vision of empowering aspiring individuals through the transformative power of the Cannes experience. And so, the seeds of the 1% campaign were sown together.

But we didn't stop there. BFS invited Lollipop Mentoring to join in on the fun because we believe in raising the volume and amplifying diverse voices. And then, we extended the invitation to Digilearnings friends at the Marketing Academy Foundation, knowing that their inclusion would enrich the experience even further. The group agreed to include them in their cohort, making it a truly collaborative endeavour.

And thus, the campaign began, fuelled by the incredible talent and creativity of our diverse group. Our mission? To take these aspiring individuals to Cannes Lions, the world-renowned festival of creativity. We want to provide them with an opportunity to immerse themselves in a world where innovation, imagination, skills and expression thrive.

But we need your help to turn this dream into a reality. Your support will enable us to cover travel, expenses, accommodation and workshops for our talented cohort as well as contributing to ongoing programmes. All Funds will be used to pay for expenses, insurance, travel, and food etc any remaining funds will be distributed between BFS, Digilearning and Lollipop who will be donating together to The Marketing Academy Foundation.

LOLLIPOP MENTORING CIC
Lollipop Mentoring CIC is a non-profit organisation that connects Black professional women with mentors to improve leadership prospects, create networking opportunities, and promote better mental health. The organisation offers mentorship, workshops, and leadership training to support diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and has delivered successful programs with 350 registered mentees and mentors in just over 18 months of operation. Lollipop also offers a bespoke internship program to help businesses cultivate diverse and mutually fulfilling internships.
