Workington St Joseph's WFC Defibrilator fundraiser
Donation protected
My name is Mark Thompson, I am fundraising through a cycling event for our very popular walking football club, Workington St Joseph's . We have many people who enjoy playing socially and competitively with many ages, both men and women. We play competitive games around Cumbria and also out the county at events throughout the year. We are looking to raise funds to be able to purchase a mobile defibrilator so we can have one present on the pitch when a team is playing. This will benefit everyone across the club as there may be a time when it will need to be used in an emergency given the nature of sport and of course older people playing there will always be an additional risk but it would also give peace of mind to everyone that a device could well be a lifesaver. I am doing the Lakeland Loop Sportive on the 6th April which starts and finishes in Great Langdale and this takes on a loop of 69 miles around the Cumbrian countryside, including big climbs at Red Bank, Grasmere , Whinlatter Forest,, Fangs Brow Loweswater , Cold Fell, Harknott and Wynose Passes and a final sting at the end with the Blea Tarn climb. So any donations no matter what the size will help towards our goal. Thank you, Mark
