Hi, my name is Tina, aunt to Kyla and Austin and great aunt to Lainey Bug. I am raising funds to help with medical expenses for Lainey and daily expenses for Kyla and Austin.

Kyla and Austin found out in October that they were expecting thier first baby. Just a few short months into her pregnancy, they were given the news that no parent wants to hear, they were told that Lainey would be facing some health challenges. Lainey was due to come into this world on June 30th and her team of doctors set an induction date of June 25th so that Kyla could deliver in Charlotte with her team of specialists. Lainey Bug had other plans and decided she was ready for her "Grand Entrance" on June 7th, she was flown to Levine's Childrens Hospital in Charlotte and spent the first month of her life in the NICU. While she was there she had to have surgery to place a feeding tube as she was aspirating due to the hole in her palette.

Lainey was able to break out of the NICU on July 6th. Unfortunately, it was short lived, Lainey started having some tummy issues on Saturday, an ambulance was called and they were taken to the their local hospital in Lincolnton, they did some scans and x-rays to learn that she had an infection and was spreading quickly, Lianey and Kyla were flown back to Levine's in Charlotte where they did many more test (every 12 hrs) and she had to have emergency surgery on Sunday. At this time the doctors have left her little tummy open until they see how she will respond to the antibiotics. Lil Lainey Bug has a very long recovery, once she recovers from this she is facing a heart surgery to repair the holes in her heart, her cleft lip and palette repair at a year old.
