Sponsor Sophie to get to the World Championships
Donation protected
Sophie has a once in a lifetime opportunity to go to the World Championships (The Summit) in Disney World, Florida. The competition will be held on 1st and 2nd May!
Sophie is part of the Durham City Allstars Junior Level 3 team. She trains three times a week at Durham City Gymnastics Club in Sherburn, Durham and is 100% committed to the sport.
It’s cheerleading but not with all the pom poms! It incorporates gymnastics, tumbling and dance. The team qualified to compete in Florida after their excellent performance in Blackpool on Saturday 29th Feb at the National Championships.
Like most sports at this level, it is entirely self-funded so all funds raised will be used to cover the cost of her flight, accommodation, entry fees and insurance. We need to raise at least £1,500 and we hope our family and friends will support this. Sophie will be organising other fundraising events such car washes and sponsored runs to reach her target etc.
We fully appreciate any donations no matter how large or small. She flies out with the squad on Thursday 30th April and will return on Monday 4th May (her 13th birthday!)
As Sophie is only 12 (going on 21), I will be withdrawing donations and then paying these to the club who is dealing directly with British Gymnastics.
We are all very proud of Sophie and the rest of the team and know they will do Durham (and the North East) proud in May! Thank you, we appreciate your support!
