Meet Gracie Goodnature or “#3 Little Miss Savage” as she is known in the Jr. Roller Derby world (YES! Roller Derby is still alive!). Standing at just 4ft 11’ and 15 years old she is little and she is SAVAGE! In July she traveled with her team, “The Pixies,” to the Junior Roller Derby Association (JRDA) National Championships where she took home five awards including the MVP “Most Valuable Jammer” of the entire Women’s Division. Every two years JRDA holds the World Cup International Championship Tournament. Teams from all over the world come to compete. This year Gracie has been hand picked along with 39 of her fellow athletes to represent the USA in the World Cup held in Valence France 2023.
Gracie was born and raised in Coeur d’ Alene ID. She is a Sophomore at Lake City High School and works as a hostess at a local restaurant. Her love of derby and country coming together in one event has Gracie “living her best life,” as she often says.
Roller Derby is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. The Roller Derby comeback is still in its infancy, and the athletes do not have access to state or federal funding due to the lack of recognition for this incredible sport. Therefore any travel, gear, and lodging are all personally funded. Gracie’s hard work, skill, and preparation have paid off. She only has a few short months before her lifetime opportunity! A fund has been set up to help cover the costs to make this little Savage’s patriotic derby dreams come true. Please support Gracie with donations and share with your friends.
