WORLD ROCKED, Christopher Robinson Health Crisis
Donation protected
My name is Jennifer Hason & I am a family friend of Christopher Robinson & his sister Libby Ballantine. WHERE TO BEGIN?! About 3 years ago, at the beginning of 2020, Chris began feeling physically exhausted & noticed some difficulty with his extremities including impaired fine motor skills that caused some serious mobility issues. Over the next year he was misdiagnosed by numerous specialists with illnesses such as Lyme, Cancer, Parkinsons & the like....only to finally be diagnosed with a very rare disorder called Cryoglobulinemia Vasculitis. ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK556045/ ) This is an auto immune disease that lays over another and creates an excruciating reality for the beautiful human that is afflicted with it. There is no cure.
WITH THAT SAID.....Christopher's business...that he ran with his life partner in Frenchtown, NJ for over 9 years, affectionately called "The Gourmand", took a serious back seat to this major health crisis. He was forced to move out of state to be closer to his older sister & better care. Eventually after realizing that they could not sustain their Frenchtown business as off-site owners, they decided to sell their business to another local Frenchtown businessman. Christopher was out of state during the deal & at the eleventh hour, the deal fell through with the buyer pulling out in an unnecessarily, exploitive manner. In addition to this, the landlord refused a lease extension and so he was forced to close the doors to The Gourmand in 4 days with zero options.
IN WALKS Christopher's sister Libby Ballantine, owner of the Frenchtown, NJ candy store Libby Beans (listed for sale with Coldwell Banker), who is also battling her own health crisis. This woman refused to allow her brother for suffer another strong blow & single handedly sold every single item, display & piece of equipment in the space during a 4 day fire sale. It was the most AMAZING & sad event that I have ever witnessed. She did an incredible job supporting her brother, unfortunately this happened at the expense of her own health & at the expense of her own business.
These folks need help. DESPERATLY. They have been ever contributing members to this community & I am hoping that the community will find it in their hearts to support them in their time of need. The only thing worse than physical suffering....is having to worry about your solidity & inability to cover the bills through the pain. Please donate if you can & at the very least share on your social media. You can’t change the world, but you can help to change Christopher & Libby's world.
