Seize années se sont écoulées depuis, le 11 janvier 2007 jour où je recevais un cœur mécanique faute de donneur compatible.

L’attente de plus d’une année sans pouvoir ne rien faire d’autre que manger et dormir n’avait pas suffi pour trouver un CŒUR.

Cependant 900 jours après l’installation de cette turbine de haut niveau technologique, je recevais un appel…

« Allo Yvan… Nous avons un donneur tu dois venir à l’hôpital Royal Victoria immédiatement… »

Le 23 juin 2009 un Vrai CŒUR comme j’aime dire…le don ULTIME, le DON de vie, un MIRACLE dans ma vie.

Aujourd’hui j’ai besoin de chacun d’entre vous afin de poursuivre ma mission de promouvoir le don d’organes localement et mondialement en participant une fois de plus aux Jeux MONDIAUX DES TRANSPLANTÉS qui se tiendront à Perth sur la côte ouest de l’AUSTRALIE. Comme vous le savez sûrement je suis un passionné de la vie et des milles et une opportunité qu’elle nous offre encore plus depuis ce nouveau cœur.

J’ai besoin de votre soutien plus que jamais, l’argent me manque, pour cette compétition exceptionnelle si loin de chez-moi. De plus, sachez que je suis le seul représentant de l’équipe canadienne masculine au sein des 5 disciplines auxquels je participe. Je suis inscrit au golf en simple et en équipe mixte, au 5 km marche olympique, badminton en simple et pour la première fois aux jeux mondiaux au javelot masculin. La raison de ma participation est toujours aussi simple que lors des jeux mondiaux de 2019: réaliser un exploit avec un don de cœur vivant transplanté, réaliser un rêve de golfeur qui joue depuis plus de quarante-cinq ans, aller voir Skippy le kangourou de mon enfance, et surtout bien évidemment, par-dessus tout, honorer ce donneur, ce cœur qui me gratifie d’une vie prodigieuse remplie d’amour et d’espoir depuis déjà treize ans.

Je ne peux oublier qu’il fait partie intégrante de mon être comme vous faites partie intégrante de ma vie. Merci mes amis.

Sixteen years have passed since, January 11, 2007, the day I received a mechanical heart for lack of a compatible donor. Waiting more than a year without being able to do anything but eat and sleep was not enough to find a compatible HEART. However, 900 days after the installation of this high-tech turbine, I received a call... “Hello… Yvan… We have a donor you must come to the Royal Victoria Hospital immediately…” June 23, 2009, a REAL HEART as I like to say…the ULTIMATE gift, the GIFT of life. As you probably know, I am passionate about life and the million opportunities it offers us every step of our journey even more with this heart.

I need each and every one of you to help me continue my mission to promote organ donation locally and globally by participating once again at the WORLD TRANSPLANT GAMES to be held in Perth, AUSTRALIA.

I need your support more than ever, I lack the money, for this exceptional competition so far from home. In addition, know that I am the only representative of the Canadian men's team within the 5 disciplines in which I participate. I am registered for golf in single and in mixed team, in the 5 km Olympic walk, badminton in single and for the first time in the world games in men's javelin. The reason for my participation is still as simple as at the 2019 world games: to achieve a heroic act with a transplanted living heart donation, to defend my silver medal in golf that I win at the World transplant Game of 2019 in England, to see Skippy the Kangaroo of my childhood, and above all, of course, above all, to honor this donor, this heart which has given me a prodigious life filled with love and hope for thirteen years now. I cannot forget that he is an integral part of my being as you are an integral part of my life. Thank you, my friends for helping me.
