World University Games - Slovenia

When I was 13, I transitioned from playing soccer to rock climbing as my primary sport. I quickly fell in love with the sense of community, the problem-solving involved with each climb, and how much fun i was having. Many of my closest friends and mentors are people I met in the climbing community. Given my competitive nature, I gravitated towards competitions and have competed in many ranging from the USA Climbing youth and collegiate competitions and many local competitions at nearby gyms.

The University World Games is an event which only happens every two years and is available to any competitors who places top 5 in either discipline (Bouldering/Lead). Last year I placed 5th in bouldering but there were no University World Games so I set the goal for myself to qualify the next year. For the past year, I have trained hard and at this year's collegiate nationals, I finished in 4th place in the Bouldering competition which qualified me for the US Collegiate National Team the opportunity to travel to Slovenia for the World University Games.
