World War II Veteran Needs Your Help
Donation protected
My father, William Funkhouser, 96 years old, lives in an assisted living facility for dementia and Alzheimer's patients. He is in good physical health, but has dementia and suffers from neuropathy which confines him to a wheel chair. He needs your help in order to stay in this facility, which best suits his needs. Moving him to another facility at this time is almost impossible due to Covid-19.
He served in the First Infantry Division, 16th Regiment, F Company (Big Red 1). On D-Day, he was one of the first to land on Omaha Beach. He also served in Sicily, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Numerous attempts have been made asking the Veterans' Administration for help by way of pension, but they have not helped. If you can help preserve the dignity of one of the few remaining of our greatest generation, it would be greatly appreciated!
