worth_fighting4 & Mental Health Ireland
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ben Banaghan and I have created this go fund me account to help raise vital funds for Alannah Sheehan and Mental Health Ireland. I will also be raising awareness for mental health as I prepare to run from Mizen to Malin head on Easter 2021 with 100% of donations for this fundraiser to be split between Alannah and Mental Health Ireland.
Alannah is married to Martin and they have three children who are Finn (5), Luca (3) and Phoebe (10 months).
In March this year Alannah was diagnosed with a grade four cancerous brain tumour (glioblastoma multiforme). This is a very rare incurable cancer and Alannah was told she has a 50% chance of surviving past two years.
To date, Alannah has been through 30 radiation treatments and two months of chemotherapy with four rounds of chemotherapy left.
Since February Alannah has suffered multiple seizures and can no longer be left alone; Martin has given up work to give full time care of Alana and the three kids.
Alannah epitomizes the importance of mental health and well-being through her constant positivity and outlook on life. (Make sure to give her a follow on Instagram @worth_fighting4)
Mental health is a topic that traditionally goes under the radar and is not spoken about as much as it should be.
During the current pandemic and with the uncertainty of what will follow, there is no doubt that this is testing the mental health and well-being of friends and family all over Ireland and the world hence the effort to raise awareness and funds.
The funds raised will help Alannah fund future treatments to prolong her life and help Mental Health Ireland offer their support to those who need it.
All donations no matter how big or small will make a difference and be greatly appreciated.
