In a nutshell, I have 6 to 12 months to live. I was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell lung cancer 2 months ago. I sit at work thinking I would like to do a couple of things before I go. I've already cashed in my 401K and have exhausted my savings with medical expenses.  I would like to take a couple months off with pay before my ticket is up. My room-mate, best friend and cousin (same person, LOL) also has cancer and I don't want to burden her with more debt. I prayed for a cure, but now I pray to live life to the fullest and take it all in. You know, I haven't asked for a thing my entire life, but now I understand I am running out of time. I would like to have some time to spend with my friends and family, to stop and smell the roses . . . for the first - and last - time. I would also like to take a small vacation. I'm just not ready to die! Without any financial help, I will literally work until the day I die, though I'm told if I don't miss any more work for chemo treatments, I will be able to build up a few more days of vacation time, LOL!
