Very sad update….. Help, bring Ruth home

Trieste update

Tot ons onuitsprekelijk verdriet is Ruth zaterdag 16 december 2023 in het ziekenhuis in Nigeria onverwachts overleden. De familie van Ruth wil haar graag thuis in Nederland begraven. Zij kunnen echter de enorme kosten van repatriëring en begrafenis niet dragen.

Namens de familie vragen wij jullie hulp zodat Ruth alsnog thuisgebracht kan worden en omringd door de liefde van haar familie en vrienden hier in Nederland kan worden begraven. Help ons Ruth een waardig afscheid in Nederland te geven en de familie de kans om dit onbeschrijfelijk verdriet naar hun wens te verwerken.

Help ons om onze goede vriendin veilig thuis te brengen!

Lieve vrienden, familie en medevoelenden,

Wij vragen vandaag jullie steun voor onze dierbare vriendin Ruth, die onlangs een cerebrovasculair accident (CVA) heeft gehad in Nigeria. Een CVA, ook wel bekend als een beroerte, heeft haar leven plotseling op zijn kop gezet.

Ruth reisde af naar Nigeria voor een familieaangelegenheid. Na dagen met zowel verdriet als vreugde sloeg de dag voordat ze terug zou vliegen het noodlot toe. Inmiddels, na bijna een week van onzekerheid, ligt Ruth verlamd aan haar linkerzijde in het ziekenhuis. De weg naar herstel zal lang zijn en medische voorzieningen in Nigeria zijn ontoereikend voor haar complexe situatie.

Zomaar naar huis toe vliegen kan echter niet: er is een ambulancevlucht nodig om haar veilig en stabiel thuis te brengen. Het organiseren van een repatriëringsvlucht is echter een kostbare aangelegenheid. Naast de medische kosten zijn er ook uitgaven voor vervoer, begeleiding en andere benodigdheden. De kosten zullen maar liefst €35.000,- bedragen. Een bedrag dat ver boven onze individuele mogelijkheden zit.

Daarom hebben wij besloten om een crowdfundingcampagne op te zetten, in de hoop dat jullie ons willen helpen om Ruth veilig thuis te brengen waar, in haar vertrouwde omgeving, de beste zorg voor haar herstel kan worden geboden en liefde haar zal omringen.

Elke bijdrage, hoe klein ook, maakt een verschil. Laten we onze krachten bundelen: samen brengen we Ruth thuis en dragen we bij aan het herstel van een leven dat onverwachts werd verstoord!

Very sad update

To our unspeakable sadness, Ruth passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 16, 2023 in a hospital in Nigeria. Ruth's family would like to bury her at home in the Netherlands. However, they cannot bear the enormous costs of repatriation and burial.

On behalf of the family, we ask for your help so that Ruth can still be brought home and buried here in the Netherlands surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Help us give Ruth a dignified farewell in the Netherlands and the family the opportunity to process this indescribable grief as they wish.

Help Ruth Get Home: Recovery After Sudden Stroke in Nigeria

Dear friends, family, and compassionate souls,

We appeal to you with an urgent request for support for Ruth, a dear family member currently battling in a hospital in Nigeria after a sudden cerebrovascular accident (CVA). Ruth was in Nigeria for a family matter when tragedy struck.

After nearly a week of uncertainty and struggle, Ruth is paralyzed on her left side. The road to recovery will be long, but the initial crucial goal is to bring her back to her home country, where she can receive the necessary medical care and the support of her loved ones.

Ruth's stability is paramount before she can be transported home via an ambulance flight. However, a challenge arises - the cost of this life-saving ambulance flight amounts to €35,000. This sum surpasses our individual capacities but can be overcome with the strength of community and compassion.
