Jamey Jo Steele

Jamey Jo Steele is the Ag teacher for the Mansfield School District. It was my privilege to be her mentor teacher during her first year at Mansfield. I soon learned that Jamey Jo was one fantastic teacher and leader. Jamey Jo gives of her time and money unselfishly, always looking for ways to help her students achieve their best and give them opportunities in and out of the school setting. For many years Jamey Jo has been fighting a debilitating disease in her ankles and feet. Unfortunately this disease and infection got the best of her and she ended up in the hospital a few weeks ago with a very high temperature. The end result has been that Jamey Jo had to have part of her leg and foot amputated two weeks ago. Jamey Jo is off of work until the first of February while she learns to adjust to the amputation and the new prosthetic. Jamey Jo is now in need of some financial help. Jamey Jo has used all her sick leave and at this point more worried about her finances then she is about the amputation. I believe that we, her community, the educational community, Ag community and friends can help take the financial burden away from Jamey Jo so that she can concentrate on healing and adjusting to this new normal. If you know Jamey Jo, this is another barrier she will overcome. With you help we can ease some of her worries. Please, if you can help out in the tiniest bit, it will bring many smiles to Jamey Jo’s face. Thank you so very much.
