Gary’s Glioblastoma Fight

Hi, my name is Brandy and I am raising funds for Gary Gaston, my best friend Lindsey’s dad. Lindsey and I have been friends since the 6th grade and I’ve had the privilege of growing up with her wonderful family. Gary is married to his wife Ranell. They will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary this month. They have three children: Kyle, Lindsey, and Ryan; and the sweetest grandson around, Coen.

 

Gary has always been so full of life! Wherever he is, people are laughing. He’s a grill master & knows how to throw together a mean taco. He’s owned a landscaping business in the community for over three decades & works alongside his oldest son. His clients are like family. You may have seen him at his daughter’s business in Oak Cliff dressed as Santa. Gary enjoys fishing, spending time with family, and doing anything and everything with his grandson.

 

This past week, Gary unexpectedly began having health problems. The doctors discovered that Gary had a large tumor in his brain & several spots on his liver. They performed emergency brain surgery to remove what they could of the tumor. The neurosurgeon identified the tumor as Glioblastoma. The family is waiting on results from two biopsies to determine the cause of the spots on his liver. There is a long road ahead of recovery, testing and treatments. Gary & his wife will be unable to work at this time. Unfortunately, Gary is uninsured like many self employed people. We’d like to do all we can to help alleviate some of the financial burden during this extremely difficult time.
