Flood Recovery

A pipe burst in my bedroom ceiling and flooded the house.  They have had to take out over half the drywall and most of the carpet, run machines for a week to dry it out.  I had to board my sick cat at $17 a day and not sure when he can come home.  My other cats are in and out now but seem to be OK.  

We have insurance but a $2K deductible so worried about that.  The cleanout is done, dried out the house, but we will now need insulation, drywall, paint, flooring (I am getting a basic concrete stain vs. more carpet), and then moving all my stuff back in.  

My husband is blind and uses a wheelchair (that is an old photo) and we have a small vending business.  I am also disabled and don't drive.  

I was already paying off a root canal when this happened, and now Ron tells me his tooth is going so not sure how much that will cost.  We do not have dental insurance.   We use paratransit which I can only use if he's with me, if he's having a bad back day I have to take a Uber.  That can add up.  

I have never had an insurance claim before so I have no idea what to expect.
