Rest in Peace Mikey

19 Years ago I adopted Mikey's daughter. On November 3rd he passed away leaving Lucy with an aching heart. Though Mikey could not parent her in the day to day way, he left her with the knowledge that he loved her and was so very proud of her. He also thanked me time and time again for taking care of her. He said it made it easier knowing how much she was loved.

Through your generosity, Lucy hopes to be able to cover the costs of Mikey's cremation, a small service for friends and family and travel costs to the Okanagan. She picked this area because Mikey had not been there and she she feels he deserves a "fresh start in a new place"

Any left over funds will be donated to Granville Villa which is the shelter where Mikey spent the last few weeks of his life.

Mikey did not choose the life he lived...the odds were stacked against him even before he was born.

I know that our communities are growing weary with our homeless, mental health victims and substance users in our streets but this is a reminder that everybody has a story. Everybody has people who care and those people are left behind with aching hearts.
