Hi, my name is Alex. I’m the one in white. I’m 24 and just lost my mom. My siblings and I need help to keep our house, maintain bills, and support our special needs brother and give him a home to stay that he’s comfortable in. We have been going through a very long struggle with my mom this year starting with her in the hospital for the month of January into February with blood clots in her lungs making it severely difficult to breathe. She was able to get better for a little while once she was out, but she was scheduled for surgery due to the clots still in her system. They were progressing worse. She had her surgery the 16th of June and stayed in the ICU under close monitoring fighting for her life to get better. The surgery itself was a partial success, but clots still suffered in her lungs. They attempted a second surgery to continue getting the rest, but it was not successful. She proceeded to come down with a bacterial infection and her condition worsened severely. My siblings and I could not talk to her due to her being on a ventilator and sedated. Come July 3rd she passed away. Her loved ones all surrounded her to be with her one last time. The doctors couldn’t fight the infections enough. Now, my siblings and I are picking up the pieces. We are going through the process of the house settlement and finding a lawyer for her estate to keep the house and continue living. We ran into many issues such as many late payments and bills, then not being able to find the right paperwork. My sister and I are going to do our best to help our younger brother and keep the house steady. All I ask is for help. We weren’t ready for this loss. We weren’t ready for the hardships to come. My sister and I will be covering mortgage, power, gas, water, and any other utilities as the months go. We are truly going to be trying our best on this house to keep living our lives while remembering our mom.
