Amy's Transition Fund

Hello,

My name is Amy and I have been taking steps towards my transition over the past 4 years & I was fortunate enough to start hormone replacement therapy just over a year ago, just recently I have recently started making steps towards coming out & living my life full time.

Amongst the many reasons why my decision to come out took so long was my mental health & the impact of how I looked & perceived myself in photos or the mirror, and whilst HRT, once I managed to access it, has had a huge impact on improving my mental health, the lasting effects of male puberty still cause me large amounts of discomfort, anxiety & stress in my day to day life.

Any money raised will go directly towards Gender affirming surgeries (Facial Feminisation Surgery, Hair removal & Gender Confirmation Surgery) and any other costs associated with my transition that I could not normally fund myself.

The current state of Transgender healthcare within England means that I am unable to get FFS at all & my Gender Confirmation Surgery in the timeframe I would like, or to the standard that I would consider acceptable.

I am currently awaiting a consultation with both 'The London Transgender Clinic' & 'Facial Team' in Spain to discuss and hopefully book a date for my Facial Feminisation Surgery with one of them depending on the outcome of the consultation & the expected cost for the surgeries. At the moment I am estimating the cost of FFS to be around £27-30k, I'm looking to raise around £3-5k to alleviate some of the cost with the rest funded from savings & a personal loan.
