Myanmar Earthquake Relief Fund

On March 28, 2025, a devastating earthquake of 7.7 magnitude struck Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), leaving countless families homeless and entire communities in crisis. In response, the Burma Buddhist Association of Ontario (Mahadhammika Temple) in Canada and its board members have come together to organize this relief fund to support those affected during this time of great suffering.

Our Mission
Our goal is to provide emergency assistance to those impacted by the earthquake - especially in the hardest-hit rural areas where help is slow to arrive. This includes food, temporary shelter, medical supplies, and other essential items.

About Fund Distribution
At this time, due to logistical and regulatory challenges on both the Canadian and Myanmar sides, we are not making final decisions about the specific distribution of funds. These details will be thoughtfully addressed in consultation with trusted local contacts and organizations when conditions allow. Transparency and accountability are our priorities and we will provide updates as the situation unfolds.

Who We Are
This campaign is organized by the Burma Buddhist Association of Ontario (Mahadhammika Temple) in Canada. The temple board, composed of long-standing, trusted members of the Burmese-Canadian community, has full authorization to manage this fund and ensure it is directed with care and integrity. Our board consists of the following persons:
Venerable Kawwida (Chariman)
Dr Aye Aye Khine (President/Director)
Koko Kyi (Director)
Dr Zin Tun (Director)
Dr Pyu Pyu Khin (Director)
