Hello, my name is Nicole Parker. Less than a week ago, my husband and his family received that call no family member ever wants to receive. Scott, my father-in-law, suffered a stroke, was hospitalized and placed in MSICU in Wausau. It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that Scott passed on August 2, 2023.

"This is my dad, Robert Scott Parker. Everyone calls him “Scott”. He was hardworking, strong, caring and loving. He loved his family, especially his kids and grandkids.
He was no Saint by any means, but he was a great, great man. Our family never lived in big fancy houses or drove fancy cars, but he made sure we had a roof over our heads, food in our tummies and knew we were loved. I remember asking my mom, “why does dad work so much?”, her response was that he wanted to provide a good life for his family. I didn’t realize it then, but this is one of the biggest lessons I learned from my dad- the value of hard work. Every morning he would get up, drink his coffee, put on his shoes and head off to work to provide for the family he loved so much. He truly believed that if you worked hard, treated people with respect and maybe with a little luck, you could have a great life.
Even if he wasn’t at work, a fathers job is never over. From hockey practice, to driving the Zamboni, to traveling all over for games, he was there for his boys. The love a father has for his daughter is unrivaled, especially when she is the only one of three kids. Although my dad may never have said it out loud, I know that he was truly proud of his children and the way we all have grown up.
We will always fondly remember his love of pool. He always played in a pool league up until his last days. Outside of pool, he loved fishing, Music on the River, hockey, his Chicago bears, and Nascar racing. And we can’t forget his love of Harley motorcycles, especially his own.
He showed strength and love right up until his last days with us. I hope that one day, when I die, my children can look back, tell funny stories about me, and talk about how I loved them. Then, like my father, I will have led a complete life."
This was written by his children to read to the surgeons who honored Scott's wish of becoming an organ donor.

With all of the emotional pain and stress that unexpected death brings, it can also bring financial burdens. We would like to raise money for Scott's family, and children to help with any costs of cremations, celebration of life, hospital bills or any costs that they may incur during this tragic time.

It is in times of sadness and loss when people can come together to help one another make it through. Any support you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Please keep Scott's family, children, and grandchildren in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you in advance for you loving kindness.
