Dreia The Miracle
Donation protected
In the summer of August 2009, my friend Dreia Davis was shot in the head. She was an innocent bystander of a drive-by shooting. She was only 13 years old. Dreia fought for her life while on life support for months. She had two heart-attacks and a stroke that left the left side of her body paralyzed. The doctors even suggested pulling the plug after trying to save her.
Today Dreia goes to school and will be going to the twelfth grade in the fall; her dream is to attend The University of Michigan. To attend school Dreia is picked up and dropped off by a special school bus. However, besides school, Dreia is restricted to her home. She has never truly seen the city she lives in because her family does not own a proper handicap accessible vehicle. Her home does not have a proper wheel chair ramp. Dreia is restricted to a bed and relies on a flicking television for entertainment. Dreia is working to walk, but her house is too small and not designed for her to do so.
Dreia is a mircle. She has been given a second chance. Her father is a single- parent who dedicates every moment he has to caring for his daughter. Due to being her twenty- four hour caregiver without pay,Curtis can't work a job therefore relying on Dreia's Social Security to keep a roof over their head and barely get something to eat.In six years he has not had a day off! The goal of this gofundme page is to help Dreia and her father receive fund for a new home equipped with the necessities needed to continue Dreia’s road to recovery and a wheelchair lift vehicle, so they are able to go places and have a life outside of their home.
Please help me make this mighty difference in their lives.
