The Aguilar Family

On January 12th, 2024 the Aguilar family's lives changed forever. This is the day that sweet Charlotte underwent surgery to remove a tumor on her brain.

The week prior, Charlotte had been sick, throwing up with no other symptoms. A day later, she began showing signs of losing balance while walking. Not wanting to take any chances, the Aguilar’s decided to take her to their pediatrician. At first glance, the pediatrician said she appeared ok but recommend a CT scan to be safe and told them to come back immediately should her symptoms worsen. At 3 am the next morning, Charlotte woke up and could hardly stand on her own let alone walk, which was very unusual for this active girl.

She was brought back to her pediatrician to which they immediately sent her to the ER for a CT scan. The family waited hours for her to fall asleep to complete the CT scan, which unfortunately did not happen. The ER doctors then attempted light sedation which failed, and they ultimately had to sedate Charlotte completely in order to conduct a more thorough MRI to get a detailed picture of her head.

Charlotte went for the MRI and the Aguilar’s waited and prayed, for what seemed like a lifetime, that the scan would yield a normal scan. Heartbreakingly after 2 hours, they were brought back to a room where they were informed Charlotte had a tumor on her brain. Left completely in shock, they were informed that Charlotte would need surgery immediately to remove the mass.

The next morning, Charlotte went into surgery at 8:45 am and her family did not see her again until 9 pm that evening. Throughout the surgery, they were provided frequent updates as to Charlotte’s status that were all positive. After the surgery, she lost the ability to walk but all signs point to the fact she will be able to walk again since she is able to crawl and pull up.

Charlotte will begin physical therapy to rebuild strength in her legs and will have a long road to recovery. She will have daily/weekly doctor’s appointments and there are unfortunately a lot of questions the Aguilar’s do not have the answers to at this moment.

The Aguilar’s are asking for continued prayers for their sweet Charlotte and that God will continue to heal her and provide support for Joe, Megan, and her caring big brothers (Jaxson and Kane).

There will be significant expenses ahead for the family and we are looking to support them any way you can. Thank you in advance for your support of this strong and resilient family.
