Hi everyone! I’m Wrenley’s grandmother (Memaw) and as most of you know Wrenley was blessed upon us September 12, a beautiful pink perfect little baby. She went home with mom, dad, and brother Ryker within 24 hours of her birth, was checked out by a nurse in their home, and other than a wee bit of jaundice and a heart murmur, she was great! On her 5th day of life mom and dad had a feeling something wasn’t right with her and stayed up all night watching over her. Some of my details could be off but, they rushed her to Skyridge Hospital, Wrenley was having trouble breathing, was purple, she was swelling up all over. They tried placing an IV but it infiltrated into her leg (causing a nasty burn). Sammie and Riley were told to call family, that she needed a breathing tube and was going to be transferred if they could find a place that could take her. Thankfully, she was transferred to Rocky Mountain Children’s Hospital, where she has been since. She remains on a ventilator, a central line, catheter (had), and is getting TPN (total parenteral nutrition). They found that Wrenley’s aortic arch is very restricted and has a hole in her septum that needs to be closed. For now she remains on the machines to get stabilized and strong enough for, what will be 2 heart surgeries. Mom and dad are at her crib side constantly, along with her brother and an army of grandparents, aunts, and friends that pray for her complete recovery. And although Wrenley does have insurance, they were told that it will only cover 20% of some of the costs. It’s very confusing and we want to help take their minds off the money, because it’s out of their hands and they need to focus on supporting Wrenley. Please help in any way you can, even positive thoughts for our sweet Wrenley.
