Officer Denny Wright, a police officer in the community of Rochester NY, serving us for more than 22 years.
On Friday, October 4th, 2019, Denny was having lunch with his daughter, and left to respond to a domestic disturbance call. During that call he was viciously stabbed numerous times, sustaining multiple severe injuries. The police chief said it was the worst attack he had seen in his 19 years on the force.
Denny currently remains in intensive care surrounded by his loving family, friends and RPD family.
I know Denny as the type of guy that would do anything for anyone, having known him and his family for 15 years. You could call him day or night and he would be there, no questions asked.
Denny's wife and daughter also serve our community as school teachers, Denny would often visit his wife's class. While visiting he would talk to students about being a police officer and supporting the community.
Denny and his family have a very long and life changing recovery ahead of them. At this time, we still do not know the long term effect of his injuries. I only know it's more than you or I want to image.
Denny will most likely never return to his duties serving our community as he loved to do. His wife will not be able to return to her class room the same way she was present there before.
This AMAZING family needs our support. No amount of money can give Denny and his family what they have lost, but it can help to make everyday things we take for granted easier.
Who better to support than a man who has protected and served us for more than 22 years!
As a close friend of the family it would mean so much to me and many others if you could donate.
I will provide updates as available.
