Hope for Leo

Dear Family and Friends,

Many know Leo for his big heart and his even bigger laugh. He would give the shirt off his back if asked but now he needs your support to help him fight.

This past January, Leo’s life drastically changed. What seemed like a very bad stomachache; turned into an emergency hospital visit, with countless tests over the course of many days. When his results came back, the medical team discovered a mass near his pancreas – located at the ampulla of vater and would be founded as a rare form of GI cancer.

Keeping the faith, Leo and his family knew this would be an uphill fight and they were prepared for the battle. However, within weeks of Leo’s diagnosis and a change of medical teams, he learned this mass (once operable) aggressively mushroomed into his liver and other lymph nodes, quickly turning into stage 4 cancer. Even with the worst of news, Leo will not give up. He chose to fight even more aggressively - ongoing radiation & the strongest dosage of chemotherapy that can be prescribed. Unfortunately, even with the most aggressive attack, this extremely rare cancer has been reluctant to shrink.

Leo’s family is now stepping in to assist knowing he has exhausted all conventional forms of treatment and the financial burden he is enduring while trying to stay alive and enjoy many more days with us all.

Leo has applied for clinical trials at research centers in Houston, TX. Being that these innovative therapies are not FDA approved - they come with a big price tag! Leo and his family are asking for any financial assistance to get Leo the innovative treatment that can ultimately save his life. Together we can help Leo crush cancer!
