The Family of Tonya Renae Tollison

On Thursday, September 7, 2023, a sharp curveball was blindly thrown at Tonya and we learned very quickly that curveball would forever change the lives of her family. Tonya suffered a massive stroke, was sent from Georgia to Florida for surgical life saving interventions, was on life support, a brain bleed was identified during the craniectomy, hope for recovery was present but that, too, was quickly taken. The brain bleed could not be controlled causing Tonya’s condition to worsen rapidly. The family, preparing for the worst and hoping for the best, was informed the worst had come. Decision day came only 2 days after the stroke resulting in the family making one of the hardest decisions of their life - remove Tonya from life support and release her to God in peace and good health or proceed with other surgical options that gave only a shred of hope to give Tonya life, but no chance of quality life. Selflessly, sending Tonya to live eternally in peace with God was the obvious choice. Tonya passed at 12pm on September 10, 2023 with her mother, husband and son by her side.
Tonya leaves behind a husband, mother, grandmother, children, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.
This unexpected tragedy has put the family in a real pickle financially. Tonya’s husband, Jerome, has taken time off work and is going to really struggle to catch up on the bills when he returns. The expenses with the unplanned trip to Florida, food costs and the dreaded expenses needed to lay Tonya to rest will be a real challenge without some help from us. If you are able to help Jerome offset some of these expenses, even if only a couple dollars, it would be appreciated beyond measure. Let’s help him grieve as he should without the additional stressors of trying to figure this all out. This family can’t seem to catch a break so let’s help give them a little boost. Thank you so much!
