Help AJ Slay Cancer

Hi friends!

Our girl, AJ Almasi, AKA Slay Mama, is a spiritual warrior determined to slay cancer. You can support her fight against this disease by making a donation to her GoFundMe page. Your contribution will help support the expensive medical expenses and treatments that AJ needs to defeat cancer.

AJ and Thomas will be relocating to San Diego so that AJ can undergo cutting-edge Proton Therapy Radiation to fight against the rare and aggressive Carcinoma ex Pleomorphic Adenoma found in her parotid gland. Due to the proximity of the cancer in her salivary glands to her lymphatic system, she has to undergo aggressive treatment to prevent its spread to the lymphatic system.

This treatment is not readily available, and there are only 12 proton machines in the country - the closest being San Diego. In addition, given this treatment is deemed non-conventional (compared to photon radiation), insurance considers this out of network. However, all doctors consulted agreed that Proton Radiation is the safer, preferred treatment for someone her age.

After this course of radiation is complete, she will continue fighting this disease at other cutting edge cancer centers out of the country, which will not be covered by insurance.
