WSL Thomo QS in memory of Bill 2018/2019

Bill Thomson, a Welsh transplant to Barbados in the 1960's, a keen rugby player and surfer, can be called the father of competitive surfing in Barbados. Bill sadly left us in July 2017, leaving a void that will never be filled. With the blessing of his family, several people got together in an effort to do something to honor Bill and his massive contribution to surfing in Barbados and his support for the international competitive efforts of Bajan surfers. In 2017 we hosted the inaugural Thomo QS1000 at Soup Bowl, and the response was just fantastic, thanks to all of you who contributed your time, money and support. The contest would also not have been possible without Surf Promotions (Barbados) Limited, Louis Venezia and Chris Clarke. This year we formed a charitable trust to continue Bill's legacy and honor his (and our) commitment to the promotion of surfing as a sporting platform for personal achievement, advancement and support of others.  Board members in no particular order are Sam Mahon, Ann and Shona Thomson, Alan Burke,  Andrew Lewis, Bob Packer and Sean Chandler.  We're thankful for any and all support. We're hoping that a few companies will come on board as named event sponsors to help us host the 2019 Thomo QS1000 in memory of Bill Thomson.
