WSP Virginia Beach Tragedy Fundraising

Tax deductible
On May 31, 2019, tragedy hit the City of Virginia Beach that claimed the lives of 12 individuals and injuring several more. Building #2 in the municipal center was home to Public Works, Public Utilities, Development Services, Real Estate, and IT. The City of Virginia Beach, specifically folks in Building #2, are a longtime client of WSP but more importantly, this incident has directly impacted the lives of our colleagues, friends, and neighbors. Even though our city is the largest in Virginia, it has a small town feel with a close-knit engineering community. Every week WSP has engineers down at the municipal center working closely with City staff on numerous projects. In our minds, the City staff are extended family that we care for professionally and personally.

When something of this nature happens in your community, to your colleagues and friends, the immediate thought after is "How can I help?". This campaign is to raise funds for the victims affected by the shooting. WSP will match donations raised from this campaign so let's hit our target goal and support our community! #VBStrong #LoveforVB

Donations will be sent to the United Way of South Hampton Roads "Virginia Beach Tragedy Fund", 100 percent of the funds raised will go to the victims affected by the mass shooting. Despite there being a few weeks of time between the mass shooting and now, United Way of Southampton Roads is still actively collecting donations for the families affected.
