Ronald Britton's Family Get Through the Holidays

Hello All, my name is Courteney Ross. My life has been spent working with young people of Minneapolis. Until this day, I will help any of my students within my means. Now, One of my former students needs the help of the entire community.

Ronald Britton was a wonderful student of mine, and many other educators, throughout Minneapolis Public Schools. Ronald is a student that brought a smile to my face every day. His wit and sense of humor gave joy to so many people and continues to do so today. I had the privilege of watching him graduate from Edison High school in 2016, and I have continued to watch him grow and turn into an incredible adult. For over 6 years, he has worked at Bottineau Park and Recreation as a mentor and coach to youth.

Recently, Ronald’s father has been hospitalized and is unable to work. Adding misfortune to misery, Ronald’s mother lost her job, and Ronald’s truck was hit by another driver that did not have insurance. He has now become the sole provider for his family. The family needs help with rent and bills. Also, Ronald needs to fix his truck in order to get to work.

I have seen our community do miraculous things, and I believe that it will come together to support a young adult who has committed his life to the Minneapolis schools and parks system.
